eMadrid seminar and eConfidence
17/05/2018
Bearing in mind the importance of research developments and best practice sharing, eConfidence project partners from the University of Salamanca (USAL) have participated on the 23rd of February at a seminar organised by eMadrid and presented our ongoing project.
The seminar brought together also other researchers from Complutense University (Spain) and civil society representatives like PantallasAmigas (Spain) and debated about the usefulness of serious games and technology to tackle violence in the schools. During the seminar USAL held a talk entitled "eConfidence project, a European model of "serious games" to tackle bullying based on educational science and psychology" referred to eConfidence bullying game as an example of this kind of resources.
More specifically, USAL representatives introduced our project reminding the audience that school bullying is one of the problems that young people face in society and to which all the necessary resources must be contributed to avoid the adverse effects they may have on them and help them in a positive personal development. Among these resources we can find technology and, in particular, "serious games" that, together with pedagogy and psychology, can contribute to its prevention. In this sense, the project "eConfidence: Confidence in behavioral changes through serious games" (funded by the European Union through the Horizon 2020 program, Ref. 732420), is currently working on developing two serious games, one tackling bullying and the other one safe use of internet. Presentation slides are available here.
